Celebrating 30+ years of recorded rap music through a series of events, exhibitions, mixtape releases and more, Classic Material is the first of a series of projects curated by Rap Music Fan Club, a London based collective of DJs, music makers, designers, photographers and more founded by DJs Chris Read and Nick Armitage. Each month Classic Material pays tribute to the defining moments of an era or specific year in hip hop’s colourful history through music, design, photography and film.
